Well we had the biggest shock of our lives on Tuesday and a COLOSSAL shock on Wednesday. Let me go back, though, to Monday.
Monday: spent a wonderful day with my husband and son just relaxing. (Matt had flown in that weekend from his business trip to Europe so he decided to take Monday off for some much needed R&R). Went to get Udon noodle soup at our local Sushi restaurant by our house. The waitress took our order and the server asked the words that every girl does not want to hear when she is not pregnant: "Are you pregnant? How far along are you?" Me: "Haha. No. Just need to hit the gym."
I put that question out of my mind...until Tuesday morning when I started doing massive research on jogging strollers.
Tuesday: Went to Babies R Us to check out the ones I selected online. I'm standing in the aisle, lifting heavy jogging strollers off the shelf and testing them out when a lady comes up to me and asks: "Do you need some help? How far along are you?" Me: "Oh, hahaha. No. Just trying to get rid of my extra baby fat." The lady walked away. I put the stroller back, walked out of the store, got in the car and drove home. At home I started thinking...and thinking...and thinking...
"Why do I still have this belly?"
"Why aren't the sit-ups working?"
"Why would random strangers ask if I was pregnant?"
"Did the Pill fail?"
Well to put my questions at ease, I did what any girl would do. I took a pregnancy test and then took my son outside to play for an hour. I came back inside tootled around the house, got Marek a snack...a little bit goes by and I remember the pregnancy test sitting on my bathroom counter:
POSITIVE. TWO LINES. HOLY S&*%$!!!!
SO...I took two more, because of course I didn't trust the first one.
The Evidence
Wednesday: Matt and I are still semi in denial. All those tests are wrong. I feel fine. I don't even think I look pregnant. I haven't been sick, no cravings, no kicks, no usual pregnancy symptoms. I'm that girl from that show on TLC "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant"
Fast Forward to Wednesday afternoon and the OB/GYNs office.
Doctor: You're definitely pregnant. You are 18 weeks and 5 days. And...IT'S A GIRL!!! CONGRATULATIONS!
Me: Just starring at the screen really wishing Matt could have been with me. I don't think I took a breath for about 5 minutes. Just sat and starred at the screen:

So yes, Marek will be a big brother sometime around February 19, 2011. And yes, his parents are still in shock...THRILLED...but in shock. :-)
